BACKGROUND
Jonathan Sinagub Architect, PLLC is a NYC-based architect specializing in private and public sector projects that benefit urban communities. The client came to me needing a refreshed visual brand and new website* to better convey his portfolio of work and to market his services in his architectural niche.
CHALLENGE
Jonathan has a portfolio of work spanning decades and creative disciplines. The challenge was to create a visual brand concept that would represent the client’s architectural practice while also conveying his identity as an artist and craftsperson.
OUTCOME
The client’s new visual identity combines classic navy blue with a freeform arrangement of his monogram, effectively speaking to both his disciplined work as an architect as well as his core values as an artist. We’d discussed the idea of a chop—a traditional ‘signature’ carved out of wood used by Japanese and other Asian culture. And this is the result—a simple, sophisticated logo that well represents this multi-talented client.
Visual Brand

The Process
After brand strategy and market research, we focused on selecting a color scheme using a variety of color-themed mood boards like this one.
Then I got to work on sketching numerous concepts before converting the best ones into digital files. These sketches show only the client-selected concept.
A variety of options presented to the client.
