On Saturday, Anthony and I headed out to Jones Beach for a healthy dose of fresh salt air and New Year’s inspiration, courtesy of mother nature.

I really love going places when they’re out of season. And I especially love going to Jones Beach in the wintertime. It’s a completely different and sometimes even more enjoyable experience. You get to see things you might otherwise miss. Like snow melting on the boardwalk. And seashells that are still intact.

It’s funny how different these buildings look during the winter…free from long lines of people waiting to rent beach umbrellas or buy ice cream. I’m absolutely loving the calm, earthy color palette of these beach scenes.

Sometimes, just getting out of the city for the day and being able to look far out into the distance is more than enough to clear out any accumulated brain clutter and spark some always welcome inspiration.
