A few weekends ago my sisters and I met in Philadelphia to enjoy some quality sister time. Our hotel was located just around the block from a little slice of local market heaven that is the Reading Terminal Market in Philadelphia. Full of a colorful assortment of coffee counters, food stalls, bookshops and vegetable stands there’s something for just about everyone there. For me that something was not only the fantastic blueberry pancakes prepared by the Lancaster County Amish. Or the wide variety of ethnic food bars. But all the wonderful sights in the market…especially the shop signs which I’m sharing with you here. Every one was unique and had a beautiful hand-crafted feel. It reminded me a little bit of Chelsea Market. But way way better when you take the whole package of sights, sounds, smells and tastes into consideration. If I wasn’t with my sisters, I think I could have spent an entire day there.

There’s so much to see and explore in markets like that. I can see why you wouldn’t want to hurry through it.
I’m looking forward to going back and sampling some more of the goodies!
